Located on Main Street in Hudson's Historic Downtown Business District

 

Medusa Brewing Company opened to the public in March of 2015 on Main Street in Hudson, MA. Since then, Head Brewer Keith Antul has been hard at work handcrafting ales and lagers that reflect the global landscape of beer. From beautifully constructed American-style ales to traditional European-inspired recipes, Medusa Brewing Company strives to provide for the ultimate variety in our draft selection.

Our brewery and taproom are the result of a staggering, 15-month buildout that had owners and friends working around the clock to complete their vision. An enormous 50-foot bar constructed of salvaged steel and white oak acts as the centerpiece of the taproom. The Beer Hall provides for a more formal area where guests can enjoy full-service ordering while seated at hand-built mahogany wood tables. We do our best to keep this list updated on a daily basis.
 Beers may sell out or growlers may become restricted throughout the day, so call ahead if you are visiting us for something specific. We stop filling growlers of most beers when inventory is down to 1/2 BBL.

 

 

ARCHAISM

Imperial Stout - 9.3%

We've tapped a single keg of our imperial stout to help you through another week of winter.  Intense notes of roast coffee and bitter chocolate, while a firm hop bitterness is supplied by UK Pilgrim.

PROSPEROUS

American IPA - 6.6%

This American IPA has clean, dry body, and is packed with Cascade, Apollo, and Centennial hops for a prominent grapefruit/citrus character.

MAGNUM OPUS

Maibock - 6.5%

The quintessential strong pale lager style of Germany, built from Pilsner and Munich malts and hopped entirely with German Magnum.

ORDO LUPULUS

Hoppy Belgian - 7.2%
This pale, golden ale was fermented with a traditional Trappist yeast and then dry-hopped with Amarillo and Czech Saaz hops. Dry, with classic Belgian esters giving way to intensely floral and herbal hop characters.

CALLISTO

American IPA - 6.3%
Callisto is an experimental IPA fermented with an unusual strain of yeast, Saccharomyces Trois, which exhibits a number of Brettanomyces-like characteristics.  The tropical fruit esters developed during fermentation are complemented with a dry-hopping of Lemondrop, El Dorado, and Vic Secret hops.

LUMINARY

Cream Ale – 5.6%
Crisp and refreshing. A light-bodied ale, brewed with German Pilsner malt, organic brown rice, and German Opal hops.

EMPYREAL

Munich Helles - 4.8%
This Helles-style lager is light in body with a touch of breadiness from traditional Munich malt.  Lightly hopped with German Merkur.

BAD OMEN

Belgian Pale Ale with Cherries and Raspberries - 7.3%
Our Belgian Pale Ale GOOD OMEN, augmented with an addition of over eighty pounds of raspberries and cherries. Fermented to dryness, slightly tart.

BARONET

English IPA - 6.4%
This modern interpretation of an English IPA features apricot notes from UK Admiral hops, while Willamette provides an earthy, floral background. Firmly bitter, with a subtle dose of caramel malts to provide more body and backbone than its American-style counterparts.

SOLO PROJECT: LEMONDROP

Single Hop American Pale Ale - 5.4%
This beer in our continuing Solo Project series of single hop American pale ales features Lemondrop, an experimental variety possessing a lemony-citrus character, backed by supporting notes of melon and green tea.

VARLET

Berliner Weisse – 3.1%
Our debut into the realm of sour beers, Varlet was mashed with a mixture of German pilsner and wheat malts, inoculated with a Lactobacillus culture and allowed to develop acidity overnight in the kettle.  The resulting beer is light and refreshing, but quite tart!

SQUIFFY VICAR

Best Bitter - 4.5%
A pale bitter built from Crisp Maris Otter and a subtle blend of biscuit, crystal, and aromatic malts. Hopped entirely with UK Bramling Cross for blackcurrant notes and a touch of spice.

Directions & Parking

 

From the North – Follow I-495 S to MA-62 E in Berlin. Take exit 26 from I-495 S and follow MA-62 E (Main St.) through the rotary. Medusa will be on the right side across from the church.

From the South – Follow I-495 N to MA-85 Connector in Marlborough. Take exit 25A from I-495 N and follow MA-85 Connector and Washington St to Main St in Hudson. Medusa will be on the right side across from the church.

From the East – Follow I-90 W to Marlborough and take exit 11A for I-495 N. Take exit 25A from I-495 N and follow MA-85 Connector and Washington St to Main St in Hudson. Medusa will be on the right side across from the church.

From the West –  Follow I-90 E towards Worcester and take exit 10 for I-290 E Worcester/Auburn. Follow I-290 E to MA-85 Connector and Washington St to Main St in Hudson. Medusa will be on the right side across from the church.

Parking – Parking in Hudson is easy. On-street parking is ample, and a number of free municipal lots are available within walking distance of Medusa and the Downtown Business District. See the parking map for more details.

TAPROOM POLICIES

 

BYOF – We utilize the Bring Your Own concept when it comes to food. Feel free to treat your visit like a picnic to the park, but with beer! There are many options available for take-out or delivery as well, so feel free to indulge in Hudson's culinary options during your visit to Medusa.

Kid Friendly – While Medusa is a kid friendly establishment, we ask that you use your best judgement when planning a visit with children. At 6pm, we begin to follow a 21+ policy.

No Dogs – We previously attempted to maintain a "Dog Friendly" atmosphere in our taproom, but unfortunately a number of uncomfortable, unhealthy, and possibly dangerous experiences led us to end this offering.

NO OUTSIDE ALCOHOL – While we do allow outside food to be brought in, we cannot allow alcoholic beverages of any kind to be brought into our brewery & taproom. This includes wine, beer, and spirits, and is against our licensing and permitting agreements.

Growlers – All of our beer is initially available in growlers as well as draft. Check our Draft List for current growler availability. In accordance with MA state law, we do not currently fill any growlers that are not our own. We do not allow filled growlers to be consumed on premise.

Reservations – We like to maintain a first-come first-serve plan when it comes to seating at Medusa; however, we can work with you for accommodating special events/occasions for large groups. Use our Contact page for further inquiry.
