Located on Main Street in Hudson's Historic Downtown Business District

 

Medusa Brewing Company opened to the public in March of 2015 on Main Street in Hudson, MA. Since then, Head Brewer Keith Antul has been hard at work handcrafting ales and lagers that reflect the global landscape of beer. From beautifully constructed American-style ales to traditional Eurpean-inspired recipes, Medusa Brewing Company strives to provide for the ultimate variety in our draft selection.

Our brewery and taproom are the result of a staggering, 15-month buildout that had owners and friends working around the clock to complete their vision. An enormous 50-foot bar constructed of salvaged steel and white oak acts as the centerpiece of the taproom. The Beer Hall provides for a more formal area where guests can enjoy full-service ordering while seated at hand-built mahogany wood tables. We invite you to come and enjoy what we have, and will continue to create. Cheers!

We do our best to keep this list updated on a daily basis.
 Beers may sell out or growlers may become restricted throughout the day, so call ahead if you are visiting us for something specific. We stop filling growlers of most beers when inventory is down to 1/2 BBL.

 

 

HOPBACKED CITRA LEGACY

American Rye IPA – 6.8%
This IPA gets its huge, citrus hop-punch from (surprise) Citra and Legacy hops! A healthy addition of both malted and flaked rye adds a subtle spicy touch.  This time, we've also transferred the beer hot out of the kettle through a hopback stuffed with even more whole leaf Citra hops!

BLACK ALE PROJECT

Milk Stout - 5.8%
The Black Ale Project kicks off at Medusa with our first ever Milk Stout.  Dark, roasty, but smooth, brewed with a kettle addition of non-fermentable lactose to preserve its moderate body and slightly sweet finish. The Black Ale Project was conceived by our good friend, Dave Pappas (also known as Hop Head), and aims to grasp the popularity of craft beer and use it to help and honor veterans of our Armed Forces. Every dollar of net beer sales will go to the New England Center and Home for Veterans (NECHV), a national leader in housing and serving Veterans who are at-risk of homelessness.

MESMERIST

India Pale Lager – 6.6%
A hypnotically hazy “IPL,” heavily dry-hopped with Citra, Meridian, and Chinook. Crisp, lighter body, with a considerable hop presence of citrus, spice, and pine.

PROSPEROUS HARVEST

Wet-hopped American IPA – 6.6%
We've taken our crisp, dry, grapefruit-forward Prosperous IPA and infused it right out the kettle through a hopback full of fresh, wet, locally-grown Cascade hops.

CALYPSO FACTO

Hoppy Wheat – 5.2%
A crisp and crushable ale mashed with a large percentage of locally grown malted wheat from Valley Malt in Hadley, MA.  Liberally dry-hopped with Calypso for notes of apple, pear, and stone fruit.

ISLAND OF MISFIT HOPS

Hoppy Amber Rye – 6.7%
The leftover hops from bygone batches find a home in this uniquely formulated amber ale series that's never hopped the same way twice. Malt-forward but decidedly hoppy, this round features Calypso, Simcoe, Meridian, Apollo, and Mosaic varieties.  We've also incorporated plenty of malted and roasted rye from Valley Malt, in Hadley, MA.

ALBATROSS!

American IPA – 6.7%
The latest in our series of IPAs hopped entirely with southern hemisphere varieties: This round features Nelson Sauvin from New Zealand, and Summer and Pride of Ringwood from Australia.

LUMINARY

Cream Ale – 5.6%

Crisp and refreshing. A light-bodied ale, brewed with German Pilsner
malt, organic brown rice, and German Opal hops.

STOUT LAD

American Stout – 6.7%
Big bittersweet chocolate and roasted malt character, supported by a blend of American Northern Brewer and Centennial hops.

BLACK FLOWERS

Dark Saison – 6.4%
Careful additions of coriander and whole star anise flowers to the kettle have yielded a smooth, silky character to this saison's traditional notes of fruit, spice, and pepper.  Modest amounts of intense crystal malt and German Carafa give this farmhouse ale its unconventionally darker hue.

DUBBEL ENTENDRE

Belgian Dubbel – 6.4%
A deep amber ale with dark fruit and caramel character.  A classic Trappist yeast strain accents this rich concoction.

SAISON BOUCLIER

Saison – 6.2%
A more traditional approach to the classic farmhouse ale, featuring the French hop Bouclier.  Fruity but dry, with some herbal/peppery notes.

ANTIOCH

Belgian Quadrupel – 10.6%
A potent sipper with a profound dark fruit character of raisins, plums, and figs.  This hardy ale was built from a base of German pilsner malt, and gets its complex, caramel body from intense Patagonia crystal malts and heavily caramelized Belgian candi sugar. (Limit 2 full pours per customer.)

Look for our sign in front of the main entrance!

 

From the North – Follow I-495 S to MA-62 E in Berlin. Take exit 26 from I-495 S and follow MA-62 E (Main St.) through the rotary. Medusa will be on the right side across from the church.

From the South – Follow I-495 N to MA-85 Connector in Marlborough. Take exit 25A from I-495 N and follow MA-85 Connector and Washington St to Main St in Hudson. Medusa will be on the right side across from the church.

From the East – Follow I-90 W to Marlborough and take exit 11A for I-495 N. Take exit 25A from I-495 N and follow MA-85 Connector and Washington St to Main St in Hudson. Medusa will be on the right side across from the church.

From the West –  Follow I-90 E towards Worcester and take exit 10 for I-290 E Worcester/Auburn. Follow I-290 E to MA-85 Connector and Washington St to Main St in Hudson. Medusa will be on the right side across from the church.

 

Parking – Parking in Hudson is easy. On-street parking is ample, and a number of free municipal lots are available within walking distance of Medusa and the Downtown Business District. See the parking map for more details.

TAPROOM POLICIES

 

BYOF – We utilize the Bring Your Own concept when it comes to food. Feel free to treat your visit like a picnic to the park, but with beer! There are many options available for take-out or delivery as well, so feel free to indulge in Hudson's culinary options during your visit to Medusa.

Kid Friendly – While Medusa is a kid friendly establishment, we ask that you use your best judgement when planning a visit with children. At 6pm, we begin to follow a 21+ policy.

NO DOGS – We previously attempted to maintain a "Dog Friendly" atmosphere in our taproom, but unfortunately a number of uncomfortable, unhealthy, and possibly dangerous experiences led us to end this offering.

NO OUTSIDE ALCOHOL – While we do allow outside food to be brought in, we cannot allow alcoholic beverages of any kind to be brought into our brewery & taproom. This includes wine, beer, and spirits, and is against our licensing and permitting agreements.

Growlers – In accordance with MA state law, we do not currently fill any growlers that are not our own. We also do not allow filled growlers to be consumed on premise.

Reservations – We like to maintain a first-come first-serve plan when it comes to seating at Medusa; however, we can work with you for accommodating special events/occasions. Use our Contact page for further inquiry.
