MEDUSA BREWING COMPANY IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THE BLACK ALE PROJECT, AN INITIATIVE DESIGNED TO MAKE IT EASIER THAN EVER TO HELP OUT A VETERAN.

Inaugural batch brewed in late August scheduled for September release

HUDSON, MA - September 8, 2016 - Conceived by our good friend, Dave Pappas (also known as Hop Head), the Black Ale Project aims to grasp the popularity of craft beer and use it to help and honor veterans of our Armed Forces. Last week, we kicked this project off with Dave by brewing a special beer that will be released later this month. 

All of us at Medusa are so grateful that Dave came to us with this purpose, and we are very excited to see this take off! Please follow #blackaleproject for updates and release information.

 

About the Black Ale Project

Dave Pappas, founder of beer-journal.com, is partnering with breweries across the country to support the Black Ale Project, a craft beer initiative to raise money and awareness on behalf of U.S. war veterans. As a former Marine and non-combat veteran of the Persian Gulf War, supporting our country’s war veterans is a cause that means a lot to Dave.

The Black Ale Project itself isn’t a charity organization but an idea Dave came up with to help veterans. For breweries that do not package and sell their beer, the beer they brew in support of the cause will get a dedicated tap at their brewery until it is gone. Dave does not handle the money at any time during the process; the net proceeds will simply be donated directly from the brewery to a veteran charity of the brewery’s own choosing.

The first batch of black ale has been brewed by Medusa Brewing Company. Each subsequent batch will be brewed by a different craft brewery, with no two beers being exactly the same. What will remain the same is that 100% of the net profit from every batch will go to help our war veterans in need.
